When we read with the &quot;efferant&quot; stance, as Rosenblatt terms it, it radically changes how we engage with the text. This type of reading has not been widely taught due to the limited and contrived environments we&#039;ve had to teach it in. But that&#039;s no longer true. Real reading for real response for real purposes, namely the co-construction of knowledge is now at the fingertips of all teachers and students with access.</description>
