Poems: Lost and Found

I put together and album of headline poems on Bubbleshare in an account that I made for the school.

Apparently we can add a soundtrack. That might add a little to the collection.

I have a non-Flash choice (which doesn’t crop the edges of the pictures)

They don’t now display on the students’ site, which is running on Drupal 4.6.

Update: They don’t display in an RSS reader, either. To get the full effect, see it in the blog.

I had the kids paint the paper to make the whole thing look a little more colorful. But still, there was trouble getting some of them to understand what we were trying to do. I didn’t have a good conceptual hook for them to work from. I think what we needed was a theme.

One of my favorites:

A spring pun
pogo poem

I put them on a headline-poem flickr page so I could compare Bubbleshare with flickr. I still like the flickr show.

I like this idea. In fact, I’m doing right now with my 8th-graders (sans painting).

These turned out pretty keen; thanks again for the idea. One group posted theirs on an art/poetry blog I made for the school: http://perspective.edublogs.org

    Hey Doug,

It was fun to read your blog and see some of the things that you are doing with your kids. These poems are great– I love the News poem. Some, I could see, just liked making nonsense. There’s nonsense in poetry too, though, right?

    Have a nice weekend!

Wouldn’t it! I wonder if I can accomplish that in the 5 remaining days I have with them this year?
