Had my own 'milestone moment' last week. I saw in my website referral stats a number of hits from 2 blogs I didn't recognize. When I went and looked at them, it turned out that it was former elementary school students of mine who are now in college. They just started googling the names of old teachers and found my photography business.

Made me feel older than I really am, so I can relate!

My similar experience was stepping into the room next to mine to let the substitute teacher know that if she had any questions or problems she could find me right next door - only to find out that she was a former sixth grade student of mine.
Diane (comment above) - I hate to admit it but I have students call me "Mom" at least several times a year (about the same number of times I get called "Dad" btw).
